Minnesota Vikings vs New Orleans Saints: NFC championship Odds

While the AFC championship features greenhorn Mark Sanchez against wily vet Peyton Manning, the NFC title game will see two experienced QBs going head to head in the New Orleans Saints’ Drew Brees and the Minnesota Vikings’ Brett Favre.

Going into Sunday’s tilt, online betting sportsbooks have New Orleans listed as a 3.5-point home fave and the Total is currently 53.

The Saints are favored by a field goal in first half betting and the Total for the first two quarters is set at 26.5.

SPORTSBETTING.com is reporting balanced action on this game, much more so than the AFC matchup between the Jets and Colts.

The NFC’s Top 2 seeds performed similarly in the divisional round, handily defeating their opponents.

The Saints covered as 7-point home faves as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals 45-14 and the Vikes stopped Tony Romo and the surging Dallas Cowboys in a 34-3 win — Minnesota covered as a

Patriots Vs. Saints: Monday Night Football Live Picks

Planning a Super Bowl party this year? You might want to use this week’s Monday Night Football matchup as a good opportunity for a trial run, as could be watching a Super Bowl preview.

The Saints (10-0) are in the midst of the best season in franchise history and the Pats, short of a fourth quarter choke at Indianapolis two weeks ago, seem poised to challenge for another title in February.

The offensive explosiveness possessed by each team has forced online sportsbook to post a total of 56.5 and still the sports betting public is wagering on the “Over”, as many sportsbooks are reporting heavy action on the high side.

New Orleans averages 420 yards per game and 36.9 points. It’s down from their record breaking average of 39-plus points per game the team rode until Week 7 but still more than five points greater than the second place Minnesota Vikings.

New England ranks second in average yardage per game

Super Bowl Xliv – Saints And Colts From A Bettor?S Perspective

If you are planning to take some action on the Super Bowl XLIV, you really don’t want to miss this article. Take my word. There are plenty of Sports News websites offering very detailed information on the Colts’ and the Saints’ performance during the regular season and the playoffs. They can do a much better job than us at it, and I know it. Don’t get me wrong here, those stats and factoids are great valuable information for the general fan; but if you are making an investment in the most viewed sporting event in the nation, those stats don’t really mean that much. If you truly want to make the most out of your picks for the Big Game, then you would like to know how both the Saints and the Colts have performed against the football wagering odds, rather than mere straight up results. And this is where this article kicks in. For Instance, the regular fan (and the regular fan’s sports news site) could tell you that the Colts finished the regular season with a

2009 NFL Power RankingsWeek 13 : New Orleans Saints

Where once there was much debate about the NFL’s best team, apparently now there S’aints no doubt about it.

The New Orleans Saints are the undisputed kings.NFL Power Rankings entering Week 13, according to the latest poll of our experts.

Their demolition of the New England Patriots on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” gave the Saints all four first-place votes. In recent weeks, our panelists have been split between the Saints and fellow unbeatens Indianapolis Colts, who this week find the once-beaten Minnesota Vikings hot on their heels for the No. 2 designation. After that pair, the hard-charging San Diego Chargers and the Cincinnati Bengals own the Nos. 4 and 5 positions, respectively.

Week 13 presents several intriguing matchups, including the Brett Favre-led Vikings visiting the Arizona Cardinals. The No. 8 Cardinals are trying to recover from losing to Vince Young and the Tennessee Titans — who rate No. 16 this week –

NFL Tickets – Vikings and Saints Highlighted on 2010 NFL Schedule

Even with the NFL being one of the most unpredictable sporting leagues out there, the release of the regular season schedule each year always garnishes plenty of attention, and for good reason.  Though the schedule won’t provide a fan with a fail-proof blueprint to how many wins his/her team will end up with, there are still plenty of premier matchups that NFL fans are certainly going to circle on their calendar.  As with every year, the NFL has front-loaded the schedule with big-time matchups that will have fans itching to get the season underway.

The NFL season starts off with a rematch of the NFC Championship game between the defending Super Bowl Champion New Orleans Saints and the Minnesota Vikings, which was one of the most watched events of the postseason.  Though Vikings quarterback Brett Favre hasn’t committed to returning for 2010, all signs point to his re-joining the team for another run at the Super Bowl.  Played on Thur., Sept. 9 on NBC, the

Atlanta Falcons Tickets- Morten Andersen Retires

After over two decades in the league, kicker Morten Andersen has announced his retirement from the NFL. Andersen, who is 48 years old, is the NFL’s career-leading scorer with 2,427 points during his career, which began in 1982. He took the record on December 17, 2006 in a game against the Dallas Cowboys. The reason for his retirement is partly because he was unable to get a contract this season and also because of knee problems. He does not have a specific injury to his knee but recognized that he cannot perform to the same level that he once could. The Falcons are finishing their season strong and fans can get Atlanta Falcons tickets from http://www.stubhub.com/atlanta-falcons-tickets.

Andersen hails from Denmark, where he was born in Copenhagen and raised in Struer. It is also in Denmark where he announced his retirement, citing the fact that his home country had been so supportive during his career. While a youth in Denmark, he was involved in

Can Saints keep unbeated?

The  New Orleans Saints defeated the St. Louis Rams 28-23 and improved to 9-0 for the first time in franchise history. They have scored an NFL-best 331 points, the fourth-most by a team in the first nine games of a season in NFL history. Next up, Sean Payton’s team continues its tour of the NFL’s bottom rung as they travel to Tampa to face the one win Bucs.

The Buccaneers (1-8) won their first game in Week 10,  38-28 over the Green Bay Packers,  then nearly came back for another in a 25-23 loss at Miami last week.

Josh Freeman has completed 32 of 63 passes for 417 yards,  four touchdowns and two interceptions in three games,  including a brief relief appearance against New England. He has had some problems with fumbling,  both during the center exchange and on sacks. But he’s proved to be a clutch player.

He has brought the Buccaneers back from double-digit deficits in each of his two starts,  and his passer rating of 117.9 in the

NFL- Saints upset the Patriots to maintain winning streak

In a surprising rout, the New Orleans Saints defeated the New England Patriots 38-17, allowing the Saints to maintain their winning streak as they faced their last serious contenders of the regular season. New Orleans, 11-0, hasn’t lost a game since the beginning of the season; that season record is tied by the Indianapolis Colts. This is the first time in NFL history that two teams hold an 11-0 record during the same season. The Saints’ quarterback Drew Brees was the star of the game; Brees threw five touchdowns to five different players, ending the game with an impressive record of 371 yards and almost no errors. He went 18 of 13 and finished with a perfect passing rating of 158.3. His average of 161.1 yards per passing attempt was also a team record. “It only counts for one win on the stat sheet, but emotionally, those types of wins can mean a little more,” Brees said. “Anytime you can win, and win that way, it builds confidence for you.
